Federal Stimulus Funds

Vermont is likely to receive almost $1.5 billion through the federal stimulus package, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. About two-thirds of the money will be direct aid to state and local governments and competitive grants. In addition, individual Vermonters will get nearly $500 million in tax cuts in 2009 and 2010. Vermont has created a new Office of Economic Stimulus and Recovery (ESR) to track federal funds. Like every other state, Vermont has developed a website where the public can get information about applying for federal grants. As grants are awarded and money is spent, the website also will be a source of information about where the funds are going and the progress of various projects. Click here to link to the Vermont Office of Economic Stimulus and Recovery and get full details about Vermont's stimulus plans.
